THE CLIENT

The Wade Bales Wine Society pioneered wine clubs in South Africa, selling mixed cases of wine directly to customers. The trouble was, their clientele were ageing and the traditional wine club model didn’t hold as mush appeal for a younger market of wine lovers.

THE SOLUTION

Together, we developed Wine23, a mobile guide to South African wine available as an app and mobisite. Wine23 features tasting notes and aggregated accolades on more than 7 000 South African wines, with the ability for wine lovers to add their own ratings and reviews, create wish lists of their favourites, and share with other wine aficionados.

Wine23 will use the data they collect from users to launch a 21st century wine society selling subscriptions to mixed cases based on each member’s individual preferences.

thinkmob is helping Wine23 build an audience and drive app downloads through a content marketing strategy which encompasses the incredibly popular weekly Drink This With That food and wine pairing posts, the Where To Wine wine diary and curated lists of wine tasting notes for all the wine festivals happening in South Africa.

We also created the What Wine Are You? online quiz for Wine23 – a BuzzFeed-style social quiz which tens of thousands of wine lovers have completed.
